Customs Office Nong Khai

Featured Replies

Anyone know if there is an office in Nong Khai seems to me like I saw one by the immigration office. But it just might be old age doing it's thing :)

Three. One at the bridge for travellers and small stuff. And a large office at the highway to Udon, close to the first foot passengers bridge at about 2 km from the main trafic lights close to town. There all big trucks stop. There is also an office mid town at the end of the thanon Hai Sok (where Phantawee hotel is) for the people who cross by boat.

Thanks I just got charged 30% in a bike part which I thought was going to be 2% I will stop by and ask to make sure. Maybe I can get figure away to get a refund, that should be fun. :) Maybe they are referring to use parts I don't know.

Sometimes I import brandnew dvd's from Europe and 90% comes here without charge. But when they open the "wrong" post container at Don M they charge 30% import duty plus 7% vat over (estimated value plus 30%) so I pay 39% over the estimated value in Thailand. They never look at the invoice, but at the value it has in Thailand. I do not know if they have a special rate for used goods.

By the way, are you sure the Customs in Nongkhai are in charge ? When the stuff gets here by post from abroad it might be Customs Bangkok.....

Lots of luck !

Made contact with David at GT riders it's 20% for internal parts and 30% for external parts so I was charged correctly no need to kick a dead horse. Next time it won't be such a shock :)
