Someone will politely correct if I'm wrong

The clock on the Air Asia website says 48 hrs and 13 mins for the countdown to the big sale......

So that makes it midnight on Sunday or 0000hrs Monday when the sale starts...

But don't tell everyone coz i've got 3 million mates that want cheap seats... :)

The countdown timer is telling me it will be 0000GMT. Maybe it changes depending on what location you select on the initial page.

3 million seats? That must be a discount on pretty much every single seat on every single flight they have on during the time period. I'll probably just wait til the next day. There's surely no chance they'll sell out straight away, if at all.

Sounds good, though. Hoping for a sub-£150 one way LDN - KL.

The count down timer is telling everyone the same no matter what their location.

But AirAsia.com is telling everyone "you've got to stay up this Sunday, midnight"......even if they are in the UK or Australia

I might be wrong but I'm still going for midnight Thai time,

I'm in the UK. When I posted, five hours after you said the timer was at 48hrs, the timer i was looking at still had over 49 hours left to run. The timer is counting down to midnight on Sunday at your specific location. What this means with regards to the sale, who knows?

It currently stands at 33hrs 8mins, which will finish at 0000GMT

Apologies if this is what you meant all along, i'm having to post secretly from work

Seems the big news is that they do not have seprate admin fees and fuel surcharges or taxes. It is all combined to one free (all inclusive). Easier to see the total cost when booking but naturally you lose visibility on how much is the ticket and how much goes to taxes.

Just looking to book to singapore this week and prices are over 6k baht one way. Tiger is cheaper and SQ actually cheapest for my dates...

MJo Seems the big news is that they do not have seprate admin fees and fuel surcharges or taxes. It is all combined to one free (all inclusive).

They've been doing this for a few months now and is not a feature of the "Big Sale!". (Booking period 10 Aug 2009 - 16 Aug 2009)

Rinrada posted the internal destinations and sale prices for Thailand, no international seats on sale.....travel dates from 11 Jan 2010 - 31 Jul 2010

I was hoping for some cheap seats on international routes from Bangkok, like they had in a previous sale.

The "Big Sale, 3,000,000 seats available, even better than free seats". Not for me :)

Right, thought it was part of the package. Haven't been flying them lately. Past few months Tiger had better deals.

Anyways it seems that you can book also international flights from the promo link. Not sure if that is good idea having people to click the promo link promising cheaper than free tickets and then quote them normal price without any note that the flight is not part of the promo...

I am not going to stay awake until midnight in the u.k if any one happens to book anything can they give further info so that I will be able to puruse the site

Dissapointing in the end. No LDN - KL flights on sale and in any case, travel dates start in 2010. I'm looking to book for early November - a couple of months ago the flight was about £170, now it's £230. I hope it's not just going to continue to rise.

I tried to make some bookings on Monday morning and could not get my credit card to verify. Problem must be at the AirAsia end. Tried two cards, called both credit card companies, neither see any transactions coming thru for them to approve or deny.

Nothing in the end... :)

I figured the only thing better than free seats would be free seats with goholiday hotel... but it was all local destinations for Thailand based passengers.

Oh well.. :D

10:40 AM in Thailand.

Site working quite fast, but no deals to get really excited about, and a long way ahead if you can plan that far.

A lot of hype, but specials have been better in the past!!!

Got to agree. I think they have rather "over-hyped" it this time. Still, managed to bag a few 199bt trips for next year, can't really complain - cheaper than the bus.

3 million seats 'even better than free seats..what a letdown..

3 million seats at promotion rates available from 11 Jan to 31 JUL...that is 202 days..that is 14851 seats available per day...

Total 88 sectors are applicable...therefore 168 seats are up for grab per sector per day...

I don't think there is a problem getting one's seat....

Do you or don't you beleive this promotion is true..... :)

Just got a return BKK-PNH-BKK in March for 998 B including luggage and the BKK airport tax of 700 B.

So the actual fare is only 298 B return.

I must say that is a good offer.

Though one needs to realize this is a "thrift" airlines with no frills, the company (which i think is very innovated ) could benefit by creating a more friendly website. It is one of the worse ones to purchase a ticket through using ones credit card...and to find your flight information later, it is awkward in how it is done/ Next, don't lie to the customers and say 80% of your flights leave on time.... I would say around 60%. NO way is it 80%.
