Hi There, i'm 27years old, belgium nationality, now my question, what are my options. i want to stay long time in thailand (few years) (phuket) maybe to search job, house, ... , i have a girlfriend there but i'm not planning to marry in the near future.

i went to there before this year in june: 2 weeks // july : whole month, and now i leave from 13aug untill 6sept.

Is there a max of times i can return to there, because i read on some sites something about 90days that you don't get in the country anymore? i now travel always with my international pasport. so without visa.

Can you please help me out with this one :-).

many thanks,

Geert

There are no limits.

Why don't you get yourself a Multi Entry Non Imm O Visa for reason of Visiting Friends. This would give you up to 15 months in Thailand. You would have to do a border run at least every 90 days.

This Visa can be obtained in Europe by post.

Hull UK. Stuttgart and Amsterdam are the best places to try.

i first call them to request, or just fill in the papers and try to get one there in Amsterdam?

so i can stay for longer times if i always renew visa?

thx for the information and many thx for helping me out.

With a Non Imm O Visa Multi . You will get almost 15 months stay but will need to hop over the border and return every 90 days.

Give them a ring first to make sure they will issue.

Hull will issue.

Stuttgartt have a good reputation. Phone number on this list.

Amsterdam Should help.

Money in an account is not usually required.

That is for extensions of stay and local Consulate issue of some visas. Should not be asked at the Consulates suggested.

The consulate in Antwerp is much more friendly by all reports I have seen on other forums.

In general, if you have a choise, go to a honorary consul.

i called to the one in amsterdam that you gave me, they helped me better,

they said that if i rent or buy a house, and can prove it on paper (agreement for a year) with a stamp or somthing (if someone has experience in this please, more information) , or i can prove that i live together with a thai woman, then they'll give me a visa for a year...

so i gonne search now for a house in thailand that i can rent. (i leave now thursday 13th untill 6sept), so time enough to arrange that.

I thank you all very much for the usefull information.

Kind Regards Geert

Just take the lady's Thai ID card when you go to Amsterdam next time. The Consul-General there is a good guy, and a fellow Hollander.

Make sure you ask for "Multi Entry Non Immigration O Visa" for the purpose of "visiting friends". What you have been told by the consulate about needing to buy/rent a house to obtain a visa is not correct. You will need to complete a simple aplication form (suggest you download from internet and complete before you go) and present your passport with up to date photo and fee. It's as simple as that. As Lite Beer says, you will obtain in Amsterdam.

i have my Multi Entry Non Immigration - O Visa :-), thank you all!!!!!! :-) The one in Amsterdam arranged it for me!!! super!!!

had an other question about this now! :)

i can go in/out as many times as i want with these visa? or is it limited?

You can go in/out as many times as you want. Each time you enter the Kingdom you will get a 90 day permission to stay whilst your visa is valid. If you are planning to stay in the Kingdom for more than 90 days at any one time you will have to do a border run before your permission to stay expires (and you will receive a further 90 days on re-entry).
