Every time I have had a bank letter written the bank has updated passbook with the current account balance at Bangkok Bank using the teller computer terminal. I can not believe other banks can not do this but have been told some can not.

During my last extension at Suan Plu I was asked to deposit 1,000 baht in the bank and then update the passbook and bring a copy of the ATM receipt to prove my present balance!

When I supplied copies of this they were satisfied and issued me a visa 30 days later.

Badbanker, when they asked you for that at Suan Plu, it was in connection with what kind of an application, and relying on what kind of income test?

800,000 in the bank, or 65,000 a month or something else???

Cash deposited in the bank for a non im "O" application!  They wanted to see if I had already taken the money out of the bank or if it was still there.  It was there for the required 3 months.

Might be worth pre-empting them by going to the bank near immigration and banking 1,000 baht through the cash deposit machine.  Keeping the deposit slip and then updating the passbook and giving them copies of these details when you apply.

Yes, as has been advised elsewhere here on TV...when someone is relying on the 800,000 baht amount for retirement extensions or the lesser amount for marriage-based extensions, it's best to have some bank or ATM slip from the day of your immigration visit so the officer can see/verify the amount on deposit as of that current day.
