Need Kasikorn Bank - Sukumvit 33 Bangkapi - Sort Code

Hey peeps,

I'm trying to send myself some money to my new Kasikorn Bank account Sukhumvit 33 Bangkapi Branch from from the US.

I have been to my bank to ask if they have a Sort Code and no one seems to know what I'm talking about. I know this is more common with UK banks etc, but I am finding it impossible to send this money without it, as I am sending from an online account.

I have the Swift Code: KASITHBK

When I add that swift code it recognizes it as Kasikorn Bank and give me a list of about 20 Branches to choose from, so I chose KASITHBKSUK

It then asks for Account No: ??????????????

And then Branch Name or Sort Code: I have tried what the Kasikorn Bank Manager suggested which was KASITH, also KASITHBK but it says Invalid Sort Code, and also explains that the code should be 6 digits (same as UK bank accounts).

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I need to get this money sent over.

Regards,

Ashley

I have had my account in Kasikorn since mid the 80's. Until 10 years ago I used to request the transfer per fax with the bank details. The last 10 years both me and my employer do the transferes online. The info I need to fill in is name of account holder, address, SWIFT code and account number.

My transfer goes from Norway through the US as USD. If I do the transfer in the morning as the banks open in Norway. It will be in my Kasikorn account about 2 hours later on express transfer (800 baht fee) or the next day on a normal transfer (300 baht fee).

I suggest you call your bank in the US and ask what the Sort Code is. A friend of mine, that actually used to work in the foreign exchange department in Kasikorn Bank's head office in Tonburi, don't even know what the sort code is.

Your transfer will not go directly to your branch anyway. It will go to the head office, where they will deposit in to your account. Also the first few digits in your account number refers to the branch where you opened the account.

Cheers

Nana
