Hi All, I guess i am directing this question maily to our TV guru,Mr litebeer who never fails with good advice!..but thanks to anyone that can offer some advice..thanks for your help in the past BTW litey!

I am about to leave the country as to activate the second entry of my double from Vientane.I have to leave and be back to LOS before 1st SEP,and GF has offered to drive to Cambodia this Saturday or maybe even next Sat if needs be.

the dilemna is this:

I have booked a flight home to Aus on NOV 20 and obviously need to stretch out my stay until at least that date so as to catch the flight home without any overstay.

So, i will use the two months and extension to arrange my flight out on 20th NOV.

One would assume that if i leave and come back this sat (22nd)i should get stamped for two months from the day (making it the 22nd OCT) then extend to 22nd NOV, BUT in times past it hasnt always worked out exactly thus and seem to have lost a few days in the processing/stamping dates...dont really want to risk of going through the process and being a few days short of the 20th.

So what would you suggest? i dont want to cut it to fine leaving to much before 1st sep (in case something goes wrong and i stuff up my second entry) but i dont neccesarily want to cut it to fine for the date of my flight back home in NOV either..

Girlfriend can only drive me this sat or next, but can sometimes be a bit unreliable...what to do!!?? what would you do?

Using my maths if you entered the country on 22nd Aug. You will be stamped in until 20th October. The 30 day extension will take you until 19th November. 1 day short.

Either get a 7 day extension from Immigration OR have one day overstay for which you will not be fined but will get a stamp in your passport.

This is reliant on my maths late in the evening. :)

By my calculations your extension of stay will expire on 19th Nov if you do border run on 22nd Aug (60 days takes you to 20 Oct, 30 day extension from there takes you to 19th Nov) with your flight leaving on 20th Nov. Options are:

1) Do border run a bit later to activate second 60 day permission to stay

2) Obtain 7 day extension

3) Accept that you are going to be on one day overstay. As you are leaving by air the 500 baht a day overstay fine is not collected at the airport. Your passport is just marked but it does not affect your ability to obtain another visa. You just need to be careful not to be stopped by the police on the way to the airport.

I would go for options 1 or 2

Edit:

Extension fee 1900 baht + you need photo.

Hehe...no doubt about you!!..and SO quick!..your worth more baht!!

will see if girlfriend can go on sunday just in case otherwise good to know i will just scrape in..getting a stamp in passport being late..no cost? thought it would be 500 per day..any stigma/trouble with this late stamp business?

thanks again

I count it up to the 20th of November not the 22nd. It is 60 days that you get on entry not 2 months so that makes it the 21st of October not the 22nd and then 30 days after that is November 20th.

That will still work for your departure date.
