What To Do In Songkhla?

Featured Replies

I have a 4-5 day stand-by layover in Songkhla in early Sept, never been before is there much night life? Is it dangerous to go out and about?

Lived in Thailand nearly 4 years now so don't need newbies advice, just some recommendations for Songkhla.

Thanks.

There is not much there at all.

Best bet for nightlife would be head to Hat Yai......neither Songkhla or Hat Yai are any more dangourous then anywhere else, although I would not fancy going further south....

4-5 days on Songkhla, well I have managed only a couple of single overnight stays there in the past and unless I have too, won't hurry back

In my opinion, the best thing to do in Songkhla is to go to Simila beach and relax at a seaside restaurant eating the wonderful seafood, drinking beer, and enjoying the view.

Hat Yai is where you will find night life and shopping. I always go with my family so I can't give specific recommendations on night clubs.

OK thanks, looks like Hat Yai then. Will check out Samila beach in the daytime.

Day time in Songkhla:

Samila beach, Songkhla aquarium (opened 6 month ago), songkhla zoo, Ko Yo museum of Thailand (very nice).

Day time Hat Yai:

Dinner at Swans, party at Post laser, West Side, The pub (not that good anymore) and would sleep in Hat Yai...
