Mein Herzliches Beileid an die Familie! My condolences to the family!

This is by far the most shocking thing I've read in the course of this forum...

I hope and wish the BIB will do their utmost to find and prosecute those responsible instead of wasting their time with seasonal crackdowns.

IMHO, in the light of recent developments in Thailand, one may have to reconsider many things.

For my part I will make sure this is blogged as far and widespread as possible!

Moege er Frieden finden! May he find peace...

This is extreme in more than one way. Who has the expertise to put this kind of bomb together? Where do you get C4? This isn't an ordinary hit.

My condolences to the friends and family.

Theres been a home made bomb incident in BKK with the use of C4 today also, perhaps there selling it up at the burmese boarder? :)

meters or metres, if it matters to the central theme of shock and sadness, probably.

Not the last story of its kind is the truth to start from.......where to next for the next tragedy is the only question?

Brewsta :)

Blowing him up with military grade explosives isn't exactly your average bump off the competition with a .38 revolver.

Sounds like someone is sending a very clear message going to such extremes.

Anybody knows more details about the dispute? How much is involved?

There are two reasons for this question. a) Everybody says life is cheap in Thailand. I want to know, how cheap? :D I could also try to figure out whether I qualify for C4 or .38. :)

I dunno, but I've been told that a bullet only costs five baht. I found it expedient to frequent more congenial surroundings. I don't have any idea how much a half kilo of C4 costs. :D

It's gotta be strictly about the cash, his killers have probably ripped off a ton of people who were threatening to take action and they killed him like this to make a statement and buy them selves some time.

Sad news indeed, condolences to the family and friends. I do hope they catch and bring justice to his killers.

There was a similar case in America not too long ago where a Pizza delivery guy was sent into do some kind of robbery with a bomb attached to him and a 45 minute timer attached, but once it was attached it wasnt coming off and blew the guy to pieces caught on TV ..... seems like this is a copycat.

To think you could meet whoever set this up and you wouldnt know what they were capable of.

Sounds like the work of Russian mafia who have been watching a bit too much "Man On Fire". Poor guy. RIP.

It seems many of these suits seem to be settled outside of court so to speak.

i reckon so,

similarity to russky skills .

there are quite a few of these guys

in pattaya .

This should really be good for tourism to Pattaya.

Won't be heard of outside the country.

why would you say that? it's on the front page of one of two english newspaper websites here.

It will be heard outside of the country and already is.........the age of the internet......eventually a simple search of violence/murder/pattaya/chonburi/real estate will lead to the story.

Talking about securing a crime scen..; people walking around as on an outing or a picnic!! Now I do better understand, why the Thai police have such a bad crime-solving record....( I refere to the video, shown in a previous post)

And how many potential tourists are going to do that? Half of them probably don't read the local news at home.

Warning: graphic content

<<<REMOVED - TOO GRAPHIC>>>

How they allow graphic scenes like this in the Thai media never ceases to amaze me. Very sad indeed for the wife to witness such gore...Rip

If this had been a local dispute it may have resulted in a gun shot , however, being C4 and remote detonator , this is a proffessional hit. Take your pick on who is responsible but I doubt if who ever did this will be caught.

The victim had obviously upset some very powerful people.

Condolences to the family.

Now now Vic, just because you have gone red again doesn't mean that all tourists to Thailand go to Pattaya.

Anyways, with the recent stuff in Phuket and now this, glad I am not in property.

Video is horrific btw way. Condolences to the family, hope they don't see it.

What's it gonna be tomorrow?

Wednesday, was short skirts...

Yesterday, was customs folk being the most corrupt gov't dep't in the realm...

And today we have a guy blown up by C-4 explosives...

Wait for tomorrows breaking news...

And I won't yet blame the denizens of the realm but I would bet even money that they are in the somewhere...

hardcore... strapped with c4 with a remote trigger.

how doesn't that warrant a massive search and crack down.

Agree 100%.

If crimes like this go uninvestigated or are just accepted ('well it happens in the US :) ') then our society is beyond farked...

Whoever committed this crime (If it wan't suicide; I don't know.) needs to be caught and sentenced extremely harshly; life, meaning life.

What makes you think there isn't a massive search going on ? Its possible they dont need to because they already know exactly which mafia is responsible. Getting proof is much more difficult though....

Maybe your suggesting that just because there a tea money culture in Thailand they dont care about anything like this...I would argue very strongly that is NOT the case and this incident will be taken very seriously indeed.

Seems like an demonstration of power and scare tactics. If they only wanted him dead, they could just have shot him or cut his throat. But this is to warn others what will happen if someone mess with the wrong guys. Looks really like foreign handling to me. If it was the Thai mafia, he would have been shot in his car by a guy on a motorbike. Could be a Russian job, since those guys probably have a taste for the spectacular and loves the movies. They probably took pictures of him before they blow as well, just for later laughter and show others.

R.I.P. Uwe.

It could have been any of us, trying to make a business and a living here but crossed the path of the wrong people.

Fully agree!

Isn't it already terrible enough for the family? And then having these graphic videos put in public?

Talk about securing a crime scene...

by having reporters jumping around or waht would be worse if it is the official BIB documentation played into the hands of journalists?

Judgement day comes for all of us, sooner or later, no matter what religion...

Firstly my condolences to the family, friends and coleagues.

If this conjecture is abhorent I can only say it is not my intention.

Further to that it would seem that the execution most likely/probably/may have involved some torture for perhaps information or futher confirmation of facts by the victim.

Hence why the body bomb to destroy any evidence of mutilation and hinder forensic recovery.

Bomb style assasinations have historically been a favorite of the russian and Jewish syndicates (however these have traditionally been booby traps like car bombs, phone bombs, letter bombs etc).

I think this poor man was tortured and made to confess or divuldge information, perhaps even into a microphone.

There is almost definitely 3 people or more. As escorting someone and straping a bomb to someone is no easy task.

I wonder what kind of forensic evidence is found in the car?

As obviously at least 1-2 offenders were in the vehicle for it to have got there.

A tradgedy and people responsible for this type of thing have no place on the earth.

Despite not being a budhist myself I can only imagine what kind of Karma these vermin ofenders will encounter in their next life.

(has there been a real confirmation that the victim (judging by the video disfigured beyond recognition) may not even be the person on the Thai drivers licence).

I tend to agree with this - there may be other partners, or others involved in this disagreement. It certainly rings of "don't <deleted>*k with us!!"

This is an extreme murder. Either the perpetrators hated him to the extreme or theyre making a point to others. This is Extremist behaviour. I wish we could know the full story behind this. All we can do is speculate. I wonder why they went to such an extreme act of "getting rid of him"?

Sincere condolences to the family.

He's obviously upset some bad people who think they are powerful.

There's always someome more powerfuland I can't see those at the top wearing this one.

This is worldwide news and you can bet the order has come right from the top to get these people.

I'll give it 1 to 6 days before someone is arrested.

German Engineer Killed By Bomb In Chon Buri

CHONBURI: -- The torn-apart body of a German engineer was found in rubber plantation in Banglamung district here Friday morning, police said.

Police said the remains of Uwe Keienburt, 45, who was an engineer of a real estate company, was found by a rubber tapper in the morning.

Police said the bomb appeared to be C4 explosives tied to the body of the man, whose BMW car was found left about 500 away.

Police said the killer used a remote control to detonate the bomb that torn his body into pieces.

His wife, Araya, 40, told police that the German engineer left their house on Soi Sukhumvit 24 at 9 am on Thursday and disappeared.

She said her husband had conflicts with a group of foreign real estate developers and he sued to receive a death threat.

An 'engineer of a real estate company'? what on earth is that? 'he sued to receive a death threat'?

Theres obvious issues with this report, but C4 strapped to a chap and detonated remotely means your dealing with someone with an advanced military knowledge(background) and connections, presumably local not foreign.

Awful news for the family. RIP

Previous Thailand scandal with German engineer of very similar name:

probably just a coincidence however.
