Hi,

I have regularly been getting Non o multiple entry visas from the UK based on marriage. I have one currently but it is due to expire at a time when my family will be visiting Thailand so not convenient for me to get a new one. (October).

My questions are:

Is it possible for me to apply for a new one or extend my current one a few months before it expires (I will be working overseas when mine expires).

I have previously got a 60 day extension based on marriage, if I enter on a normal tourist visit (i.e. no visa) can I extend on that based on marriage?

If I was to take my spare valid UK passport to Laos now, could I get a new Non O put in that one and use it at a later date?

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks,

Ranger

being marreid to a Thai national you can get a 60 day extension fro 1,900 baht. Also on a visa exempt entry or tourist visa.

If you have an income of 40,000 a month OR 400,000 in the bank in Thailand you can get a 1 year extension.

Only if you fly to laos could you change passports.

With your travel schedule I think it would be hard for you to get and keep an extension of stay based upon marriage. You could do it on this entry if you have enough time to allow for the 30 day wait period and be within the last 30 days of a 90 day entry.

If you are here now you could do a trip across the border and get another 90 days just before you leave. Then get a re-entry permit for that entry at immigration (1000 baht). That would let you re-enter until the end of November or even December dependent on when you do the border crossing.

Or you could wait until you are here in October to do a hop across the border and get the re-entry permit. As long as you do an entry before the visa expires you can enter and get another 90 days.

This might put the time out far enough out so that you could get a new multiple entry visa when it would be more convenient.

You can also get a multiple entry in KL or Penang so you don't have to go all the way to the UK.

You can only get a single entry in Laos.
