Permission To Take Child To Uk?

Featured Replies

Hello

We would like to take our grandchild to the UK for a couple of weeks while we get a new non immigrant visa.

As yet he does not have a passport, is it best to get a Thai passport or a British passport?

Also, do we need any forms filled in by his mother to give permission to take him out of the country, he is 11 months, him mum and dad are both working and although they would like to visit uk at this time they cannot come.

Kind Regards

Obviously, if he qualifies as British then a British passport would be best as he would not need a visa.

If he is not British then a Thai passport and a visit visa, in which case you will need written permision from his parents.

You should get both passports. Using the Thai passport to leave here and re-enter.

The UK to enter and leave there.

As Joe said, both passports would be best.

Yes, I would take a note from the perants with you stating you have permission to take the child with you. There isn't any form for that, just have them make a letter stating you have permision to bring the child to the UK for a visit and a copy of their passport ID page.
