Anyone Recommend A Good Local Medical Gp?

Remember it don't matter where you go in Thailand the realm's doctors are ranked # 27 in the world. :D

There wil be some individual doctors ranked above that and there will be some who would struggle to be in the top 100.

Take your pick, and take your chances.

But you ain't gonna find any Harley Street doctors in either CM or the rest of the realm combined.

In that case then the Doctors i have seen in the UK must be in the 200s.

It must be really bad experiences with the 200th rank dr! :)

john b good, just curious where you read about Thailand's Doctor's ranking 27? I saw the World Health Organization's 2000 report of the world's health systems where Thailand ranked 47 (Germany ranked 25, Australia 32, the USA 37, while France ranked 1 and Italy ranked 2 and Myanmar 190!) but it is all difficult to decipher and understand exactly what it all means.

The WHO states that they gave up ranking countries health systems in 2000 due to the complexity of the task. It would seem so.

It was worse by the fact that the problem was picked up by Dr Morgan within 1 minute of seeing it on a X ray .It had never been picked up in the UK over a 30 year period ,as it would have been visible all the time that the so called UK Doctors ( i use the term loosley) were trying to find out what the problem was.So it was nice to find a Doctor who listened to you ,and knew how to analise an X ray image.

All of the doctors I have seen at Sripat have their own clinics here in Chiang Mai. Why not save the hospital for when there is a real emergency? After all we wouldn't run to the hospital for a minor problem in our own countries now would we?

One of the reasons that this happens (using the hospital rather than the clinic) is that these doctors that are doing double duty, hosp and pvt clinic, only open their clinics in the evening because they are employed during the day at the hospital. If you don't like evening rush hour then you have to see them at the hospital.

My wife, daughter and I use Loi Kroh Clinic / Dr Tawatchai for exams etc and TCM, traditional chinese medicine (Dr Wong at Chip An Tong Dispensary) for minor ailments and herbal preventive maintenance, and have been very happy and healthy.
