Hi,

I recently bought a DSLR and took it on holiday to take some snaps. Unfortunately, being the idiot that I am, I let some of the sun tan lotion on my face get on the LCD screen.

I've tried using a dry cloth and computer cleaning fluid to try and get it off, but it just seems to smear the filmy layer around the screen.

Anyone got any recommendations?

:)

I use Evernet Screen Cleaner for my PC and TV screens.

Alcohol leaves streaks, this does not.

I am not sure where/if you will find it in Thailand, but worth looking out for.

I have moved the topic to the computer section as they probably have more experience with LCD screens.

I have found Carex (hand cleaner) very good for removing grease from eyeglasses so expect it would work - but probably need a lot of damp tissue to remove it/and grease as you can't put under tap as glasses.

Will a Scotch/microfiber cloth not work? When clean they are good for picking up grease and dry. I would use a blotting rather than rub (which can scratch).

Windex (but spray onto a soft cloth, not directly onto the screen). If you cant get hold of that then diluted vinegar will work (often used for cleaning windows)
