I was at immigration in Bangkok yesterday to get my 60 day ext (I did, no problem). After being told to go upstairs (I live in Pathum Thani) and waiting for 3 hours (lunch break in there) the officer told me that I had to goto the new office on Chang Wattana Rd since I resided in Pathum Thani. I was quite upset as I had wasted 1.5 hours getting into town and then 3 hours waiting my turn. So I asked them when the office opened and apparently it was opened yesterday, so said 2 of the officers. On a new map in the office, it said that it opens on Sept 28th so I was a bit confused. I told them that by the time I got there, the office would be closed and I'd be charged overstay which was NOT acceptable as if the original officer at the information desk had told me to go there in the beginning, I would've made it on time no problem at all but instead I was sitting upstairs for 3 hours waiting. Anyways, after being led from one person to the next, I made it to the "boss" and he did my extention personally (he was good about it) and he told me that from now on, to goto the new division. So here I am letting anyone know that if you reside in northern Bangkok or north of Bankok, goto the new office. I can't find the article or address on the Immigration website (it may be in Thai but I can't read) so if you're not sure, call ahead and find out! Just a heads up

Pib, it seems you missed the point in the post of derek11. In the part of your quote from the immigration website which you formatted in an illegible yellow colour it says that the Bangkok Immigration Division would move to Chaeng Wattana on “Monday 28th September 2009” but derek11 was being refused an extension of stay at Suan Phlu on 23 September, ie five days before the announced date for the move.
