Jewish Holiday Of Sukkot On Nimmanhemin

SUKKOT.....The Jewish Holiday of Joy

Enjoy it with us on Friday, October 2, 2009, at 6 PM, in our sukkah.

Sukkot (also known as Sukkos) is a seven day post-harvest festival, which

many believe was the pattern from the American holiday of Thanksgiving. Jews

have been celebrating it for 3300 years, and there are many stories, symbols

and experiences connected with it. We spend as much time as possible in

special temporary dwellings called Sukkas. These are open to the sunshine,

stars (and occasional rain), and make for a interesting indoor-outdoor

experience. Since Sukkot this ýear begins on Shabbat, we are inviting

anyone who wishes to come and enjoy shabbat in our sukkah. We will be eating

there for seven days, so if you are around any other evening, feel free to

contact us, or just drop in.

Here are the directions.

1. Go to the Amari Rincome hotel on Nimmanhemin Road off Huay Keaw.

2. Across Nimmanhemin from the Amari parking lot, you will see the Doi Tung

Coffee shop.

3. Next to the coffee shop there is the entrance to our moo ban (village)

4. Just go straight in, and continue about 70 meters. You will see a sala

(Thai gazebo) on your right, and a sukkah. Our address is 4/70.

Please bring some PURELY vegetarian food, and we will set up all the food

in our sukka for everyone to enjoy.

As sukkot is the holiday of joy, get in the mood for some happy singing,

talking, and yes.....a l'chaim (cheers) or two.

Naturally, anyone interested can come......you don't have to be Jewish to

enjoy sukkot.

RSVP through this site.

All the best
