Currently a category 2 tropical storm over Vietnam, and heading towards Thailand. The obvious eastern provinces have all been given flash flood warning, but will we get any in Chiangmai before it blows it's self out?

The wifes family lives in Kap Chong 60k south of Surin City. Just talked to them, rained 3 times today nothing hard they expect hard rains tomorrow.

It's kind of typical to get some typhoon remnants in the area this time of year.. That's what people mean when they say that the main bite of the rainy season is at the end, sort of mid September until mid October.

Usually just means a shitload of rain.

On Koh Samui here, it's just very windy so far ... it's been getting worse all evening.... amazed the power is still on!

Hope it does not get too bad for you guys up north...
