I like goji berries, especially dried. Much better than raisins, in my opinion.

I can find goji berries at the Makro on Chaengwattana. Much cheaper than Chinatown where it's now 270 baht per 500 grams. I use goji berries when I make muffins, granola & cookies.

Just so you know ... there is no such thing as Himalayan or Tibetan goji berries. This is one of the biggest myths/shams in the herb industry ... and I've been in the industry for over thirty years. In fact I just returned from lecturing at the International Congress on Traditional Asian Medicine in Bhutan. While there I specifically asked about so-called Himalayan or Tibetan goji. This is what I heard ... even though I already knew the answer ... from several traditional Tibetan healers, and several PhD scholars on medical anthropology, medical historians, ethnologist and ethnobotanist who have devoted their whole lives to the study of traditional Tibetan medicine:

Tibet is way to high and cold to support the growth of goji which requires a much milder climate.

There is no mention what-so-ever of goji in any traditional Tibetan medicine texts ... neither the ancient ones nor the modern ones.

There is now a small market in Tibet for goji because of the Chinese immigrants ... and the berries are being shipped into Tibet from China.

Yes, I know the internet is full of companies claiming to have Tibetan and Himalayan goji ... and there are companies that say the Chinese goji is inferior to the magical "Tibetan" goji ... but it is pure fiction.

Of course, this doesn't mean that goji berries are not very healthy food/medicine. They are ... but they ain't from Tibet.

Yep Herbaled, marketing marketing... not always telling the truth...

Btw, you need a Makro-card to enter, right?

Yes I kind of thought this was the truth when I found this plain wrapped bag at Makro! Thanks for clarifying it and I hope to read more post from you!

Makro card is free. Just apply.
