Enormous Traffic Jam At Old Airport

I've been stuck in a traffic jam on the tollway near Don Meuang airport now. Not moved for a couple of hours. Anybody know what's causing the jam?

Air show today, Thunderbirds air show would be my guess

They must be using the expressway for landing and takeoff. Amazing Thailand, indeed.

Hope people at the airport are seeing more than me. I'm hearing lots of noise through the clouds and managed to see one plane for a split second.

Thai traffic radio has reported that people had stopped on the express way to watch the Thunderbirds....

Apparently some 100,000 people have turned up, possibly because 'Bird' (Thai pop sa-tar) was seen watching the practice session yesterday (Friday) which brought it huge publicity.

If they have actually stopped, that will confuse the hel_l out of the guy with the speed camera

Thank you, so I know now why I had yesterday Friday 09.10.,

a lot of problems to come in the Domestic part of Don Muang,

to pick up my GF from a Nokair flight,

find a Parking spot and needed long time again to come out to the Highway.

Amazing Thailand , if you cannot take over an airport , just block the access roads , who said Thai are not self centered ? .

My wife and I were inside the airport with great seats for the show and left because an hour after the show was suppose to start there were thousands still trying to get in. I was worried about ever getting out of the place. It took me almost an hour to get past the thousands of cars illegally parked. (and motorbikes) The 100,000 plus people all came in through one small gate that was about the width of 8 people. The same gate everyone had to go through at the end of the show. Stopped about a kilometer up the road and watched the show.

Great show by the Thunderbirds. The rest was a total mess.

I hope no one died trying to leave through the small gate.
