After successfully obtaining a settlement visa for the better half we are now considering applying for a domestic worker visa for our maid/nanny of our 2 girls, we satisfy the need for her to have been working for us at least one year immediately prior to application however we have scant documentation actually proving that our maid was employed by us or living at our house other than lots of photos. As anyone been through this process and any advice to offer?

We fully understand that minimum wage applies and all the other requirements such as own room, not being related etc it is more to seek advice on what documents are useful over and above the bare minimum suggested on the web sites.

Thanks

From your previous posts, it appears that you are seeking entry to the UK for your servant.

Are you familiar with Chapter 18.5 Overseas Domestic Workers in private (not diplomatic) households, Guidance - Overseas domestic workers (INF 17) and APPLICATION FOR DOMESTIC WORKER (MORE THAN 6 MONTHS STAY)?

Between them they should tell you most, if not all, of what you need to know.

For example, from leaflet INF 17

What supporting documents should I include with my application?

You should include all the documents you can to show that you qualify for entry to the UK as an overseas domestic worker. If you do not, we may refuse your application.

As a guide, you should include:

written confirmation from your employer that they will support you and give you somewhere to live, and

a written copy of your main terms and conditions of employment,

documentary evidence that you have been employed for one year or more by your sponsor for example an original contract of employment and payslips.

(my emphasis)

With nothing but photos of you and your maid/nany I'm afraid you're almost bound to fail. I would expect you'd have to provide the kind of documentation that any other employer would have to provide, i.e. employment contract, wage slips/payment evidence, evidence of employer tax payment etc. If you look at it from their angle, anyone could provide a file of pictures of someone in their home and with their children over a period of time, but this wouldn't prove that she was being employed as a nanny.

Visa granted within 3 days! Looks like there was sufficient proof through the cross referenced bank accounts. Conditions apply that are must travel within 3 weeks of visa being granted and must travel with one member of our family.
