montri69
What I'd bring from the states are DVDs and music CDs that are NOT cheap copies and don't have Thai subtitles (movies). Torrents. Available in the boondocks just outside Khon Kaen. Torrents are free downloads using BitComet but I've never found a way to convert them into something my home DVD player will play so I can watch them on TV and not the computer. Jimjim
Only thing I can think of is Dr. Pepper. I have only brought it once and only one can, but I always thought it would be a good seller on the Thai market. It's the only cola I really like. jayjayjayjay
as i stay in Australia 6months and in Thai 6 months i always take my prescriptions i have tried to buy in Thai but they are not the same, another thing is razors can never buy good ones in Thai . Gillette triple blades bought in Thailand, great shave even after 7 days. Best razor I've ever used. Try the five blade Gillette's, even better. Definitely can't get these blades in Thailand. 5 blades about the same cost as a Honda Wave. But I would like to know what the H*ii these plastic Gillettte handles are all about. After 3 months they get this revolting black mold on them that's impervious to nuclear radiation! Gillette must have researched very carefully to ensure these top models begin a decomposition process quicker than biomass pit! Make sense for them to resell handles over and over and over.................$$$$$ $$$$ $$$$ $$$$
bonobo
Small reliable kitchen appliances would be nice also but I guess there would be a huge import tax on those. I brought a Braun hand mixer before, and last time, I brought a Vita-mix blender and a meat slicer, both still in the box. I never had a problem with customs and was never asked to pay any tax. I bring several cases of Diet Dr. Pepper on each trip. I am addicted to it. I don't think it would be a good seller here, though, except for maybe the US expat community. I have given it to maybe 20 or 30 Thais, and only one likes it with another willing to drink it, but only as an "OK" drink.
bonobo
Many of my Thai friends have spent time in the US or are familiar with western goods. So I get a shopping list for each trip from them. From specific brands of perfume to chocolate ex-lax to chocolate to caster boards to Vita-mix's to adult toys to Emergen C to vitamins to wine to I-pods, the list varies each trip. I am going for a week on Sunday, and my list only has Old Spice after shave and Emergen C on it so far, but if things go as usual, up to the day I leave to come back to Thailand, I will be getting e-mails with more things to buy. PhilHarries
Well I read the first page and this last. Basically I don't miss too much from home, UK, except Coleman's mustard (if it don't say Coleman's on the label it ain't mustard in the jar) but on my last return a couple of weeks ago I did bring two large bags of Cofresh Balti Mix. In fact I'm eating some now, excepting the bits that are scattered all over the desk and the floot that I'll "clean" up later. A good few years back, in fact my '93 Xmas R&R, I brought back a six pack of Boddington's bitter, the ones with the widget in the can. Took one out of the fridge one Saturday afternoon and was totally disappointed. Somehow Boddington's, from Manchester, don't taste the same when the sun is shining. I've just finished it. Two great things about Vegemite, it never goes off. As with your jar, 5 years after the official expiry date it's as good as the day they packed it. Second, coz Thai's and most other nationals cant stand it, it really does last no matter what....... :-)

iCumKitteh
Hi, I am heading back home to the States and just wondering what you guys bring back from home. The things you can't find in Thailand and you can't leave without. I know lot of stuffs can be found at the Paragon and the Emporium at higher price but what are the things you can't find anywhere in Bangkok? A penny for your thoughts... Electric stuff, cables and extension cables, plugs and switches. Electric watercooker (though they have good imports now but way to expensive) If you own a house some doorlocks etc. (but Homepro got a lot now just not the real stuff) Soft rubber icecube makers, some special herbs for cooking. Sometimes few sextoys to give away, few books...
