Emergency decree in deep south extended

By The Nation

The Cabinet on Tuesday agreed to extend the Emergency Decree in the three restive south provinces of Yala, Narathiwat and Pattani for another three months.

The decree will be effective from October 20 through January 19, 2010.

Moreover, the cabinet plans to revoke martial law in the four districts of Songkla province which is adjacent with three southernmost provinces and to replace it with the ISA.

A complaint center in the restive south provinces will be set up to receive complaints from local residents and give opportunity to presumed insurgents to overturn themselves.

sawasdee krap noble folks.... and khun sbk....

by "revoke martial law in the four districts of Songkla province", in regard of this statement..... does it affect a tourist in particular Malaysian tourists......

by replacing with ISA internal law, in my thought it's make things become worst..... I fully agree in usage of ISA in 3 deep southernmost provinces..... because there are far chaotic in other region in Thailand.... but it does nothing in Songkhla.... Songkhla is safe, peace and harmony.......

just my opinion....
