Ducati Dealer Coming To Chalong

I was speaking to Kuhn Keang yesterday, manager of HKT motors, and he told me that in December he will become an authorized Ducati dealer with full warranties, support, service etc. They are opposite the Honda garage on Chaoh Fa West between Chalong and Central.

Nothing but the Bkk branch at the Ducati dealer locator so far.

I have had really good customer service at his shop so far. Yesterday my new riding boots had a rivet pop and since they didn't have anymore in my size, Keang gave me a full refund with hardly batting an eye.

That's what you call 'service' ;

all too rare here .

If I've got the location right from your description, you might get Keang to put pressure on the authorities to stop the u-turn at the traffic lights there, when vehicles do a right to get into the Shell Petrol Station;

this daily causes a snarl up every time the traffic has to stop :) on the green light because of one vehicle turning;

Highly dangerous ,

Hi

Correct me if i am wrong but he give a very good service to you because you know him, i still think he is way too expensive, also heard that he rent out the bikes he got for sale, for me i don’t want to buy a bike there has been rented out, you know how people drive a rented bike.

It would be nice to see Duke here in Phuket who is going to service the bikes?? he bring in trained mechanic from Ducati??

i know i should go and ask but last time i was there i had to turn away and do the walking when i asked the price of some of the bikes, also about the green books... that was a worry..

No problem, I will.

I never met or spoke to Keang before this incident. I didnt know who he was until I asked.

Wont disagree with you about the prices. I asked about the books and staff told me they are proper. My understanding is he would have Ducati repair techs on hand, either transplants or his staff was getting the training. Probably both. Good question to ask him.

Hi

OK thx

when i was in the shop, this is long ago, he did not have books to all the bikes but i was told,, no problem we can get for you cheap, not sure now when they really check the books. BTW you can buy a fake book for 5000, have seen one look like the real stuff

Really a proper ducati trained mechanic, the full electronic diagnosis equipment that modern FI machines need, etc etc etc. That to me sounds like much more of an operation than this small bike shop (who was not able to advise or perform any serious sportbike engine work when I asked) seemed capable of.

If it does happen great, but it represents a major upgrade from what it is now. So will watch it with interest.

The problem is the fake book will often not match the "card" which is kept on file at the issuing office. (And to further complicate things, they are computerizing everything) That card might say it's for a Honda Click, but an official was bribed to change the info on the book, or a new book was created entirely from the 400 or so odd books that went missing up north a while ago. I just went through all this with my old bike.

Phuket is as difficult a provence as any when it comes to big bikes, so if HKT gets thier books here, I would imagine they are legit and would past muster anywhere else.
