Renting A Car In Thailand

Featured Replies

I intend to rent a car in Pattaya in mid-January to take 4 of us to Koh Chang for 3 days. I've been there once, so I generally know the way renting space roundtrip on a shuttle bus works. It would cost me approximately 10,800

baht. How much would gas/petrol cost, including the boat ticket(is it for the car plus the four of us or just for the car if we sit in it)?

?? if you really, really paid over 10k for 4 people return by shuttle somehting must have gone wrong: average fare./single 200/250 (less on the normal bus),x4x2=makes 1600/2000 THB-that is till the ferry.

PTY-as one may expect from any tourist town along a beach-has 100s of car-rental places-prices usually start at a 1000 THB/day (can be less-for older/smaller cars), plus the fuel, plus the ferry-fare. google for whitesanspublications-they publish that handy free Koh Chang guidebooklet-and their site has all that info on how to get there.

Average: fuel 2-3 baht per Km. Ferry I think we paid about 250 Baht for the pickup - no extra for people.

Pattaya to Koh Chang is about a 550 km round trip, so factor in somewhere around 1500B for fuel.
