What Happens After My Double Entry Tourist Visa Has Expired?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I can't seem to find a definitive answer to my question as the rules change so much, everyone is telling me something different!!

I am from the UK and before I left I got a double entry (2*60 days) tourist visa from the embassy. I am now in my last week of my second 60 days (both entries have been used) and am trying to find out what will happen if I do a visa run?

I assume I am allowed one more entry for 15 days if I do a visa run to Cambodia? Is there any way of sorting it out in Bangkok and does anyone know how many more tourist Visas I am allowed to get before they stop giving them to me?

Your advice, as always, would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

If you cross the border and come back by land you will get 15 days.

If you want to stay longer go to Vientienne Laos and get another double tourist visa.

You can get a 30 day extension from Immigration 1,900 BAHT if you want.

Correct, first option is going to the local immigration office where you will get an additional 30 days (1,900 Baht).

After that, border runs will get you 15 days each, but after a few they might want to verify how you are supporting yourself financially.

Vientiane in Laos is still issuing double entry tourist visa's.

Thank you very much for everyone taking the time to answer my questions. Seems like my best option right now is to go to Immigration in Bangkok and get my 30 days extension.

Can I please ask which office it is that I need to go to, and do I just turn up there on my last day with passport and cash or do I have to book an appointment?

Many thanks

Hi Again if you go on your last day on your visa i will gave you only 7 days i know its happen to me lol so go 1 weeks or 5 days before your visa expire you dont loose anny days and you dont need an appointment

In Bangkok you would need to go to the immigration office at Chaeng Wattana. You will not lose any days by applying early.

You will need to take with you completed application form TM7, recent passport sized photo, copies of your passport photo page, visa page, entry/permission to stay page + TM6 departure card. Fee 1900 baht.

Go now and the office is Chiang Watanna, Soi 7 - at end of Soi you turn right to South side of building and use that entry if coming by Taxi. Immigration is just inside the doors. You can go any time before your permitted to say date and get 30 days - only the 30 day visa exempt entry would be limited to 7 days.
