Public/pay As You Go Swimming Pool Near Asoke

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I am looking for a bit of advice on finding a swimming pool that I can use on a low monthly/single use fee basis near Asoke (I live in Sukhumvit Soi 16).

I have recently moved from a condo with a large swimming pool in Thong Lor and although I could still use it (I am pretty sure they wouldn't notice!) it is kind of far to go every day as I work in Asoke too.

I was recommended the nearest one being the public pool by Emporium but I heard they require a medical certificate to join? This seems like a lot of effort to me!

As I will be using it 5 days a week at least and am pretty broke until Christmas, the lower the fee the better!

Many thanks as always.

It isn't a lot of effort. You walk into one of the numerous clinic along suhumvit and ask for a medical certificate. If you have a heartbeat, they will give you one on the spot for a nominal fee. Continue walking to the pool (make sure you have a copy of your passport) and apply. Easy.

The pool at the park next to the Emporium Center is a nice one, and the membership fee there is very low... They're not open all the time for open swimming, but they have set periods every day for it....plenty of access last time I checked.

They do require a med certificate as stated above, for Thai and farang. But as the earlier post said, that is nothing to do here... Just walk in and walk out with one... There's a clinic on Suk Rd near the La Casa Intalian restaurant that will take care for that, and very close to your current home.

I don't know of any closer public pool option to your location. There are hotels and health clubs, but the fees are going to be greatly higher.

The public pool near Prachasongkhro, not far from Asoke used to require AIDS tests. I don't know if this is still the case.
