Today it closed at Surat Thani sky glow with dark any more help other very pretty windy.

We allowed leave this little post นะ help.

Beautiful really help.

never seen the ferry but i hope it wasn't similar to the zeebrugge disaster in the eighties where they left the bow doors open to long and it sank, sounds like they got lucky.

I initially deleted this topic as translation was hopeless, but then I don't like to be accused of keeping secrets or some other innuendos. As far as I can determine, the ramp opened due to high seas.

Can someone please try & give a proper translation, from one of the quoted links.

I thank they used the same program for translation that is used on pirated DVD's :)

I don't know about the Donsak ferry but I was on the Koh Tao one on Tuesday and the journey was horrendous. The waves were around the 6-8 metres. I took some people diving as they said it was OK but they wanted me to dive in the middle of nowhere. The captain even refused to return to samui so we had to come back by Seatran. It didnt run on Wednesday either. They had cancelled the snorkelling but still decided to take my money for the diving. They should have cancelled all tours and warned passengers that the journey would be bad to give those with no deadlines the option of leaving a few days later when the wind has died down. All in all a bad day and having a meeting with the Seatran boss tomorrow about it. I will let ou know how it goes.

Yesterday Haad Rin Queen boat, Lompraiah and I am not sure about Songserm didn't move their boats from Koh Phangan. Only Raja ferry navigationg. Waves 4-5 metres.

I don't have updates for today.

Sorry but translation made no sense.

I thought it was fine & i'm just glad the Aircraft Captain managed to head back to Donsak Wharf safely... :)

I find this story could be true as many times I've travelled they don't lock the front ramp with the latches have a look next time when in the car deck. 500 passengers seem's a lot on one ferry. Oh well it's another accident waiting to happen like the plane crash some months ago.

:) ...500 passengers...

Is that a normal number this time of year ?

They seem to lower/raise the ramp some distance from the shore. Seems nothing has been learned from the "Herald of Free Enterprise disaster"

Just a few inches of water slopping around the car deck weighs tons, and this movement in heavy seas is enough to capsize the boat.

Bit confused though...how was the aircraft crash an "accident waiting to happen"? Are you a member of the Accident Investigation Branch per chance?? :)

if the captain's driving was as bad as the this translation then i think we are all doomed. i hope the captain of the boat does not mistake the boat for an aircraft and pilot the wrong vechile. i thought i was bad but even i had to laugh at this english.

would also like to know how i can give a "beautiful really help"

Full Moon Party has just been & gone, so that would add to the figures.... for travellers....

I know one company here that took about 600 Full Moon'er's to Haad Rin & Back to Samui, on the night of the FMP...

So very possible ....

google translation does not do so well with the Thai language, I have found.
