Muay Thai- King's Cup

Featured Replies

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and was wondering if anyone knew where about the King's Cup for Muay Thai in Bangkok 2009?

moving to the sports forum

normally isn't it held for free at Sanarm Luang?

You should look up a member called Tingtongnoi and message him directly.

I never really considered it to be a great show case of Muay THai; usually have watched mid level Thai fighters against foreigners; not quite like the superfights you see at Lumpini or Ratchadamnoen; however I haven't been live so maybe this is why.

Or i might have the wrong event entirely; I am just commenting on what i see on TV.

Great fights almost every week in Thailand......

if you mean the amatuer world championships, they are being held at the Mall Ngarmwongwan

as for the Kings birthday shows they are at Sanarm Luang as Steve mentioned, usually on the 4th and 5th of December

mate would you agree that while some of the fighters are good, usually it is more a spectacle of evenly matched good fighters, rather than the all out wars we sometimes see from the champs best of the best at the big stadiums?

And more importantly, any big great fights you recommend coming up soon?

to be honest think the standard has slowly been going down and down as there is not so much money now for the fights. 10 or so years ago they had more sponsors so would get some big name foreign boxers coming to take on the best of the Thai's. Now it's more if you are in a gym training in Thailand and are willing to fight for low purse then you can fight there.

Think the 8th of December should be a biggie at Lumpini as is the stadium birthday show and usually a big affair

On January 16th the Thailand VS Challenger Series start, this will be a very professional event where Thais will fight falang. And the event will take place at Siam Paragon Hall. see www.thailandvs.com

Some of the best Thai and international fighters will fight. Also this will be a show with lost entertainment in the breaks.
