i arrived last month on a standard 30day stamp (runs out in 2days)

I had planned to do 2 visa runs(x15days) and leave next month. (ticket already booked)

PROBLEM: It seems that my passport expires in 5 1/2 months time and i would be unable to do the visa run as thailand wouldnt let me re-enter.

What are my options:

Would uk bangkok embassy extend current passport?

Would thai immigration give 30 extension or at least 15 days?

Time is ticking and even a 7 day extension wouldnt give time enough (10days) for a renew passport.

I thought that was the case also, but didn't see it listed under the "Visa Exempt" entry information on the MFA website. It is listed as a requirement under a Q & A section, and for issuance of a visa though.

Agree with Mario2008. Immigration may not let you back in.

Would suggest you call the British embassy tomorrow and see how quickly they can issue a new passport. “Normal” turnaround is I think 10 days. If they can do quickly look at obtaining 7 day extension of stay from immigration to cover.

yes going to embassy tomorow...but 10 day is 10 WORKING days....even a 14day extension in immigration may not be enough time to get the new passport issued

oYou will not get 14 days, only 7 days and might need to show a ticket out of the country. But in your case because of the passport they might give you a 7 day extension.

Talk with the embassy and see what they can do for you.

At one time there were bilateral agreements to allow use of passport under six months with outbound tickets. Not sure if that is still the case, or that the UK has such agreement. But check with Embassy should provide the answer.
