Crossy
I don't usually buy duty free, but a friend in India has asked me to get him a couple of bottles of Jack Daniels. Is there a significant saving on alcohol at the airport, over say, Tesco? I have onward domestic flights in India which is likely to cause issues with the duty free packaging from Swampy and the stuff is rather expensive in Mumbai airport, if I get from Tesco it can go in my checked bag so no issues in transit. Theo007
You may not be permitted to take the bottles on the flight if you bring them in from outside the airport.
smokie36
Probably cheaper in Tesco. I would be inclined to agree. Much less hassle in India as well. The customs can be a nightmare there as I suspect you know already. A couple of bottles is probably over the duty free limit. Hide it well. PattayaParent
A couple of bottles is probably over the duty free limit. Hide it well. India DF limit is 2 litres It's gone up since I was last there. I was given a telling off for bringing in 2 bottles of Chivas (in 1990). They still let me keep them though so no problem

BEENTHEREDONETHAT
Unless King Power Duty Free picks you up for shop lifting, then the cost goes up dramatically.

Crossy
Wow 250 baht that will break the bank. True, consider it as 20% saving over Tesco As it happens went to Tesco to save the hassle during transfer to domestic flights in India. It turned out I couldn't check bags through anyway so I would have been able to pack my duty free in the checked bags at Mumbai. I'll know better next time.
