We ought to applaud this ingenious Thai solution to the Global Fish-Food Shortage Crisis !

With new stores opening in the Night Bazaar there will be a total of at least six (!) fish spa's in that area alone. Competition seems very stiff.... Makes me wonder how long it takes before most close down again.

I went to the first one that opened at the Night Bizarre and it is a feeling that I don't want to have again.

They had one at NIM Plaza this afternoon. 115 Baht for 15 minutes. Not busy at all, just kids looking at the fish.

As someone else said. You can get this for free at some of the waterfalls in Kanchanaburi province. It's a bit ticklish, and of course the water isn't as warm, but on the other hand it's flowing water, so you're less likely to catch some fungal infection.

This is barbaric and should be stopped. This is very traumatic for the fish and can cause long term psychological damage

And while someone here mentioned that they do not have a gun held to their heads, at the location I visited there was a frying pan clearly visible to the little guys and I am sure it was there to provide incentive for the poor darlings to keep working...

And would their dedication and hard work be called a "feet feed feat"?

... for the good folks who choose not to pay, or other various and sundry smarta$$es ..... do they have a little door that releases the pirhanna into the nibble/gobble tank?

If it's FISH you want nibbling you then Thailand has some nice ones to do the job... like the Giant snakehead common to most big reservoirs..

Secretly this is a plan to raise a tastier, fatter fish with which to make a more alluring pla ra. Mmmmm !

In the clear pools of the Mt Erawan waterfalls there are many mahseer fish that will nibble your feet when you stay still long enough. It's just a gentle tickle feeling.
