WE ARE ALL DOOMED !!!!!

Climate change is real.

Don't people remember when AIDS killed most of the human population, or that terrible New Year's Eve 1999/2000 with all those planes falling out of the sky and electricity failing ?

What about the hundreds of millions killed by SARS and Bird Flu ?

All endorsed by many, many scientists.

This is the latest apocaliyse. Apocalypse Now !!!!

Time for another beer.

Copenhagen: the AGW druids at Copenhagen know they are on a losing wicket and it shows

By Gerald Warner World Last updated: December 8th, 2009

Wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen – or is it? For AGW fanatics this was supposed to be the climactic moment, the Machtergreifung that would initiate global government and penal taxes through which the hard-earned money of Western citizens would become a burnt holocaust to the religion of Global Warming, the few remaining heretics would be anathematised and the New World Order would commence.

But it is not working out like that. True, the thousands of parasites – politicians, safely bought scientists, civil servants, myth-compliant journalists and other free loaders have duly converged on the Danish capital. But, for the Climate Moonies, it has turned into a Barmecide feast. Even they know that something is wrong. They are frothing and foaming at the mouth more hysterically than ever – but the world is not listening.

Climategate is the elephant in the room, the skeleton at the feast. Scepticism was supposed to have been eliminated by now; instead, it has captured majority opinion. It is untrue to say that Britain is split 50-50 – though that, in itself, would be a defeat for warmists – close study of all the surveys shows that scepticism was running at closer to 60 per cent – before Climategate even broke. The script said that man-made global warming was to be regarded as an established fact, that sceptics should not even be given the courtesy of an argument.

Now the warmists are on the back foot, thoroughly on the defensive. Even six months ago, who ever thought that Energy Secretary Ed Milliband would be conceding, on the opening day of Copenhagen, that convincing people of global warming remains a “huge challenge”? Yet it goes beyond even that. I would be the last person on earth to minimise the importance of Climategate or to deny credit, in any way, to those scientists and journalists who have so tirelessly exposed it. And, of course, it has had an important effect.

But there is more than that to the irreducible scepticism of the public. Even before dodgy e-mails emerged, the public was realising that this was a scheme, not to save the planet, but to make Al Gore a billionaire. Gore was trying to charge $1,200 a time for people to shake hands and be photographed with him at Copenhagen. Is that the conduct of a man who urgently believes the planet is about to be scorched to a cinder? Is the United Nations a trusted institution?

The evidence is all around us. Take last weekend’s global warming demonstration in London. It was attended by 20,000 people. In today’s climate of internet communication to organise protests, is that a credible figure reflecting public concern over a global crisis? The Countryside March attracted 407,000 people, the Anti-War in Iraq march 750,000. Subtract from the climate change marchers the smellies who will turn out to bang tin cans to protest against globalisation or global warming indifferently, how much of the British public was galvanised by planetary concern?

“They have science and momentum on their side,” lied a supposedly neutral, but blatantly biased, BBC commentator. In reality, they have neither. Copenhagen is the high watermark of the AGW scam: after this it has nowhere to go but down. The fall of Malcolm Turnbull in Australia and the voting down there of the kind of laws being demanded at Copenhagen shows that electorates are beginning to have their say. Politicians’ rodent whiskers are twitching with fear.

We (I mean by “we” the sane, the scientifically informed, the defenders of freedom, the opponents of socialism and world government) must fight on to victory. We must attack, discredit, harass and, if necessary, disobey climate laws and refuse to pay AGW taxes, until this evil pseudo-religion is thrown into the dustbin of history. Even the mere passage of time disproves global warming. There is an unexpected defensiveness and lack of confidence detectable behind the blowhard utterances at Copenhagen. There is a change of pulse. They are on a slippery slope. We are going to win this one.

Trouble is you've got the big egos there, Obama, Brown et al who have virtually staked their political lives on AGW and just plain cannot afford a U turn.

The more you delve into Climategate and events before it the more you realise that this is a political smokescreen to hide something big. The conditioned scientists have done their bit like good little lap dogs, now their masters are taking center stage. Scepticism will be made a crime and non-believers will be burnt at the stake (figuratively speaking). They want AGW to be true, they need AGW to be seen as being the truth and they will stop at nothing to get their way. No dirty trick is too low, no lie is too big, AGW Inc. needs your dollars and needs them now.

AGW is also a massive industry in its own right, with tens of thousands of jobs at stake.

Even local councils in the UK have their own 'climate change officers'.

These people are not going to give this huge boondoggle up easily. In fact, as PhilHarries says, they are going to use every trick (clean or dirty) to protect their position on this huge gravy train.

Their scientists are charlatans, but charlatans who say what greedy and narcissistic politicians want to hear.

Don't believe that countering this is going to be at all easy, or quick.

Pardon me, but don't we already have one global warming thread running in pub? Do we really need another one?

Regardless of whether Global Warming is man made or not, changes in temperatures and whether patterns is apparent to most. I recall discussing this subject with my father in 1972 when the topic warranted only a small mention in the middle pages of second tier newspapers and he dismissed the subject in a way very similar to that of many people today. Regardless of the cause of the problem, we need to start doing things differently.

Climate-gate was just evidence as to how politics can pervert science.

There are three facts we know, and can't reasonably be disputed:

1. The earth has been undergoing a warming trend over the last 150 years

2. There has been a dramatic increase in the production of greenhouse gasses over the last 100 years (due to industrialization, farming and ranching)

3. There has been a short cooling trend over the past 10 years, which has not been significant enough to reverse the more long-term warming trend

I don't think any scientific models have yet been able to accurately estimate the long-term effects of the buildup of greenhouse gasses. We even know from the study of past volcanic events in earth's history, that the earth has ways of compensating for changes in the atmosphere. I think we need to get politics out of science, and do some real study of the possible effects of greenhouse gas buildup.

On the other hand, I think this Climate-gate thing has shown that the doomsday proponents may be pushing for a political solution a little too fast. I think it's a good idea to invest in greener technology and for governments to support that trend in innovation and development. We need some better scientific data, before we start pushing for nations to restrict their greenhouse gas emissions by way of treaties and laws.

Petr Chylek is a climate scientist who has been publishing work in this field for over 35 years.

About Climategate, he says:

For me, science is the search for truth, the never-ending path towards finding out how things are arranged in this world so that they can work as they do. That search is never finished.

It seems that the climate research community has betrayed that mighty goal in science. They have substituted the search for truth with an attempt at proving one point of view. It seems that some of the most prominent leaders of the climate research community, like prophets of Old Israel, believed that they could see the future of humankind and that the only remaining task was to convince or force all others to accept and follow.

His full open letter is here.

The climate is changing, however whatever the cause. Is it such a bad thing that we look for ways to stop polluting the planet?

Of course we should stop polluting the planet.

But the Copenhagen circus is not about pollution -- it is about carbon dioxide (CO²), one of the building blocks of life. It's the gas which enables trees and all plants to grow, among other things.

A cabal of important scientists has persuaded many politicians that CO² is dangerously affecting the climate of the world, and the politicians are preparing to turn round and tax everyone to prevent this, even though it isn't true.

These people aren't interested in cyanide, mercury, dioxin, benzene, because there's no money in it.

There's plenty of money in the CO² scam, and it's going to come out of your tax dollars.

Wether tory or labour the facts remain - this is a conspiracy. Alas, though we still have the hard core sheeple who deny the fact that his is a total fraud.

Of course you are right, men never conspire - and the ruling classes minions (paid shills) never conspire against the best interests of the people - no no that could never be :)

60% - anfd growing - of the British public are nuts as they dont believe the properganda. The emails arent real - just a conspiracy, just a dream a conspiracy i tell you. Wake up and check out reality :D

this is what Obmas science advisor had to say:

The guru of President Barack Obama’s science advisor, John P. Holdren, who in his 1977 book Ecoscience called for draconian population control measures including sterilizing the water supply and introducing forced abortions, wrote that large amounts of carbon dioxide should be pumped into the atmosphere in order to aid plant growth and solve the food crisis.

Lamenting on page 140 of his 1954 book The Challenge of Man’s Future, Harrison Brown – a geochemist who supervised the production of plutonium for the Manhattan Project, wrote that “the earth’s atmosphere contains only a minute concentration – about 0.03 percent” – Brown observed, “It has been demonstrated that a tripling of carbon-dioxide concentration in the air will approximately double the growth rates of tomatoes, alfalfa, and sugar beets.”

Brown was a guru to White House science czar John Holdren, who co-edited a 1986 book in his honor.

Holdren acknowledged Brown’s book transformed his thinking about the world and “about the sort of career I wanted to pursue,” writes World Net Daily’s Jerome Corsi.

“There are between 18 and 20 tons of carbon dioxide over every acre of the earth’s surface,” Brown noted on page 142. “In order to double the amount in the atmosphere, at least 500 billion tons of coal would have to be burned – an amount six times greater than that which has been consumed during all of human history

I don't think I've managed to do more than scan these bloody posts, mind you when, you get "New world order" "Socialism/world government" and "conspiracy" in the same post, you know your in the presence of <deleted>. I reckon if your Goverment tomorrow said "we've discovered that Climate change is a swindle", some of you would have changed your mind by bed time and would be madly copy/pasting pro climate change gumph.

Mind you I have to admit I'm just one of those simpletons that doesn't know enough to decide that the majority of the world's leading scientists and most of the world's governments are wrong. In fact I'm so simple I tend to believe they are probably right and to finally condemn myself...I'm a Labour voter :D
