Hi all,

Just a quickie...

How accurate are sputum culture samples (three negatives) in eliminating the possibility of TB, assuming that the x-ray images are stable?

Any published info on this?

Cheers :)

Well it aint too accurate and this is the reason for the 3 samples of sputom. You can look that up yourself.

"AFB efficacy"

In my opinion, the QFG test is the best, but it will only let you know if an individual is a carrier of TB. It can not distinguish between active and latent.

That said, if one has a negative QFG one does not need to worry at all regarding their stages of TB.
