300 Narathiwat households still heavily affected by floods

NARATHIWAT: -- More than 300 households in the southern province of Narathiwat are still dealing with serious flood problems.

Flash floods have swamped villagers’ homes in communities along the Sungai Kolok River in Sungai Kolok municipality.

As the waters are as high as 80-120cm, boats are being used for transport, while numbers of local residents have contracted Athlete's foot and other water-borne skin diseases. Almost 200 villagers have already evacuated to a relocation centre, and electrical power supplies to riverside communities along the river remain cut off due to safety concerns.
