Beach Resort / Hotel In Chumphon Area

Hi All,

I'm driving from Bangkok to Phuket and want to break the journey with a overnight stop in Chumphon. Can anyone recommend a good beachside resort or hotel in the Chumphon area? Preferably not too far off the route 4 highway if possible?

Not much information on the web re resorts in this area so any help would be reatly appreciated. Would it be better around Surat Thani for beaches?

A bit late but . . . Cabana Resort, at Thung Wua Laen Beach, a few km north of Chumporn, is IMO the best of the bunch. Various kinds of rooms and bungalows, a pool or two, and a very good seaside restaurant. Not expensive either.

As above but it is very dated for a supposed 5 star resort but as said cheap, right on the beach and has a very good restaraunt. There are also lots of bungalows along the seafront if you dont fancy the Cabana There is also a Novotel resort just south of Chumphon and not too far from the main highway. Never stayed there as it was only being built when I stayed there but looked very nice. Chumphon is my favorite place in Thailand!

we stayed at Novotel on 23rd December & can highly recommend the place, very cheap deals to be had too. We paid 1,800 baht cause we booked 2 days before but it was such a good deal even at that price but you can get cheaper when booking early.
