Maybe I'm slow at noticing these things but since the purchase of Viagra et al seems to be the subject of many threads here I thought it was worth posting that Boots Chemists in Thailand now sells Viagra, Cialas and whatever the name is of the third one! Available in Phuket at Boots on a shelf that is clearly labelled, "only for sale with on prescription" the products are available at circa Baht 2,000 per box.

On the basis of what I've read in previous posts on this subject, I think this is a good move on the part of the government and trusted chemists such as Boots and it provides a legal way to buy the real product.

My Cialis story from Chiang Mai. After reading several posts and seeing that an Rx was needed I decided to go to Chiang Mai Ram Hospital's outpatient department. I was processed in, my weight and bp taken then after several more minutes taken into a consultation room. I explained to the Dr what I wanted and he checked as he wasn't sure it was stocked in the pharmacy. He found it and asked how many I wanted - I said 30 and he wrote the script. I was escorted over to the pharmacy area and given my cashier number. While waitng I began thinking, "Maybe this wasn't sucha good idea" as its a closed system - I'm in thier hospital - so is their Dr and so is their pharmacy. Maybe it would have been better to find a Dr's office on the street somewhere [are ther any?] and then get a refillable Rx and go to any pharmacy and buy what I needed as I needed it. I did a quick mental calulation and thought well I could handle the lot if it was priced the same as it is where I live in Mexico [where an Rx is not needed. My number came up and I went to the window. The caashier got the pharmacy slip and as she looked at it she actually gasped. I knew i was in for bad news. How bad? She said "That will be 71,300 baht" I told her that I would just pay for the consult of 300 baht. 30 pills for 71000 = 2367 per pill. Can this be true or have they made a mistake? Reading the previous post it says "....the products are available at circa Baht 2,000 per box." My question is how many caps in a box? If its one then its still an astromical price. If its four [which is how Cialis is packed in Mex] then it works out pretty competitively at around US$15 each

what I'm really looking for is the generice Indian made stuff.

I'm reliably informed, it comes into Ranong from Myanmar at 800 Bt per pack and that it works. I can't however confirm that last bit.

Follow up on Chiang Mai Ram and Cialis. I went back the next day and told them I wanted to talk to the pharmacy as they had made a mistake but I waas put in the mill again and had to have my vitals taken and see the Dr again adding another 300 to the expense. He wrote an new Rx for just 3 boxes of 4 pills/box. Price came out to be 2779.33 per box or 694.83 per tab. Way too high but I paid and hope someone can develop a lead for a cheaper supplier here.

This may be a good move, but at top prices, a lot cheaper on line and for generic versions.

I wonder if the economics of drug counterfeiting are such that it pays to make copies of legitimate generics such as Kamagra, Apcalis etc.?

Seems unlikely, since the cost of the Indian generics is so low in India and smuggling is pretty easy through Burma into Thailand.

Therefore it seems to me to be a safe assumption that the Indian generics are legitimate and of reasonable quality and all of the Viagra sold outside of the legal supply chain in Thailand is fake. (Actually some of the hospital pharmacy Viagra is probably fake also

so i try not to take everyday. also I break the tab into 4 and just take 1 piece on an empty stomach. does the trick
