This is the latest..

http://au.fourfourtwo.com/news/189675,redknapp-court-hearing-over-tax-evasion-charges.aspx

Thery didn't get the Case thrown out otherwise we would have heard about, so full steam ahead for April...:)

Harry Redknapp is hoping charges of tax evasion that have hung over him since the start of the year will be dismissed at a court hearing in London tomorrow 26.11.10.

Lawyers for Tottenham boss Redknapp will appear at Southwark Crown Court alongside with the representatives of respective former Portsmouth chairman and chief executive Milan Mandaric and Peter Storrie in a bid to prevent their April trial going ahead.

The trio were charged in January following a three-year City of London Police and Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs investigation into the financial affairs of Pompey, where Redknapp was manager until October 2008.

All three men deny the charges and will seek to have them dismissed tomorrow.

Should 63-year-old Redknapp succeed, it would be seen as a boost to his hopes of replacing Fabio Capello as England manager in the summer of 2012.

He has made no secret of his desire to do so and is the bookmakers' favourite for the job.

Redknapp was charged with two counts of cheating the public revenue of an estimated £40,000 after voluntarily attending London's Bishopsgate police station in January.

The move came at the end of an exhaustive 26-month police and tax inquiry into alleged corruption in English football.

Charges concerned two payments, totalling 295,000 US dollars, alleged to have been made from Mandaric to Redknapp via a bank account in Monaco, evading the tax and National Insurance contributions due between April 1, 2002 and November 28, 2007.

Redknapp's arrest was part of a wider inquiry, dubbed Operation Apprentice, into alleged football corruption.

He was held in November 2007 by investigators examining a number of transfer deals at Portsmouth.

The decision sparked a furious response from Redknapp, who accused police of targeting him because of his high profile.

Mandaric, now chairman of Leicester, was charged with tax evasion relating to the payment of 295,000 US dollars to another person via a Monaco bank account, evading tax and National Insurance.

Storrie was charged with concealing a signing-on fee for ex-Portsmouth player Amdy Faye by paying it into the midfielder's bank account.

The allegation related to the transfer of Faye from Auxerre to Fratton Park for £1.5million in August 2003.

In May 2008, Redknapp and wife Sandra launched a court challenge against his arrest and the search of their home in Sandbanks, Poole.

They were awarded £1,000 damages against City of London Police after the High Court ruled a search of their home was unlawful.

Rumour has it that Spurs are looking at David Moyes, if the worst comes to the worst.

http://www.mirrorfoo...icle702073.html

About their true level Moyes, Mid/Top half of the table, no mor ethan that..

No CL experience necessary anyway after this Year so Moyes would be fine...

This contention of yours that we won't qualify is sounding so hollow now, i think its giving the whole Tottenham thread hope.

Deep down you really think we will qualify don't you and its horrifying you. You've suddenly realised that we are already top four and our strikers have'nt even started scoring. Very impressive i agree. :whistling:

Do you really believe that Defoe or Pav won't come good very soon? No. i know you don't.

Now i really understand why you are sooooo concerned.

The one about Paul McC is going to be in the locker for some time btw singher. And you know that too. :D

Why would it be hollow ??

Tell me how many weeks you've spent INSIDE the top 4 positions this Season & then show me, because of that, how it's a " hollow contention " ??

Thanks..:)

PS : Sorry for leaving incredibly at short notice, did you sort all with the Manc ??

You talking about plod are you singh? I think so and, well, dunno really, Who cares

Now, far more importantly, does it really matter where we were say. one month ago? No it does'nt. We seem to be on a role and getting the rub of the green which is so important. City must be praying that Tevez does'nt pick up an injury don't you think? Actually singher, City supporters like yourself and plodders know that we've taken the initiative at the crucial time. I know we have a long list of injuries but we also have the squad to deal with it. All we need now is for Defoe or Pav to start scoring. :ermm::)

I know its a way off mate but i can't wait for our away fixture against you lot up at Eastlands. Still have the fondest memories of last season. :whistling:

Sorry, i was under the impression that my " hollow contention " would be something that would be need to be based on facts like i asked you to give to us all that would have made my point NOT a " hollow contention " but very valid & completely accurate one givien the fact that you won't tell us is that you've been outside of the Top 4 positions, for about 90% of the League Season, but it looks like they don't seem to matter..

Who needs the truth aye ??

Up the Spuds, & their Supporter's arguements..

My point is that its really not important where we were in, lets say October last year, if we are fourth as of today. Can't you see that. It has nothing to do with truth and lies does it. I seem to remember that we spent a lot of last season out of the top for aswell.

Carmine, you called what i said " hollow " yet what i said was just the truth, i based what i said on teh fact that you have been outside of the Top for for the VAST, VAST majority of the current Season..

That's not hollow at all, that's what is known to most people as common sense..

Unless of course you believe it's a pre meditated ploy of your Management Team to stay outside of the Top 4 positions for most of the Season & get there in the 2 or so Games again, like you did last Year ??

My theory is the opposition lets their turf grow for an extra couple of weeks prior to our visit knowing we will lose sight of him during the game.

I do think Pav is a better all round striker and Defoe is way too selfish. Big question for me is how does Les Ferdinand justify his position as forward coach at his weekly sit downs?

I think they're both good Strikers, i just think it's obvious that thaty are not being played correctly.
