My husband and I are Canadian; he is over 50, I am not. He has a non immigrant 0 and will be applying for a retirement visa in 3 months. What is the procedure for converting my tourist visa to a non immigrant 0, as his dependent? Cheers.

Once he has his extension of stay you take a copy of his passport and apply for a single entry non immigrant O visa which you then extend to match his extension of stay. Thereafter you will be able to extend together.
