Affidavit Of Income

Sir,

I have been here for the past 15 years now and every year they come out with a new way of doing things. This year, all of the Immigration check points are requesting the Affidavit of Income to be written/Typed in 2 Languages. English and Thai. This was easy at first do to them accepting 2 forms. One in English and another in Thai. Now, recently, they will not accept the 2 forms. They now want both Languages on the same form and then Notarized by the U.S. Embassy or the Outreach Program. Does anyone have an Affidavit of Income in 2 Languages? Can someone make up this form with Microsoft Word and put it on the ThaiVisa for all of us to Download!!! Thanks ahead of time..... Dave, This is a new thing that has just come up. Last year I did mine is English also but, this year they want 2 Languages. Call your local Immigration office and find out for sure before you go next time!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was a shock to me also, Lite Beer..... The check point in Imnot wants this form in 2 Languages. It's a new office and maybe they though it would be fun to see if we could do it. I showed them a form with the Thai Language under the English Language and they said just get it Notarized and that will work. But, the form I showed him was to small and the Thai was a little out of focus so, I thought I would ask the experts out there and see if we could get a good form made... I'm not that good at Microsoft Word.....

Where are you attempting to do this? I did mine in September in Chiang Mai and the usual English affadavit from the U.S. Embassy was all that was required.

Silverhawk, I'm renewing my Retirement Visa soon and was told by the Thai People in the Imnot Charoan Immigration Check Point that I needed it in 2 Languages. Just 1 1/2 months ago it was OK to have 1 form in Thai and 1 form in English. Both forms had to be Notarized. Getting 2 forms Notarized is very expensive plus the cost of having it translated from English to Thai. So, the new form with Thai and English would only have to be Notarized once. So, Im asking everyone if they can make a form up and post it!!!!

I get the same income verification form from the US Embassy every year for my extension based on marriage to a Thai Citizen and need to get it double notarized for the idiots in Jomtien Immigration ( They ask for this).

Meaning I take the same notarized document from the US Embassy to the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Laksi ,Bangkok and have them endorse the notarization from the US Embassy - it takes another half a day to do and it earns some more money for another useless Thai Government agency , but seems to work.

Apologies 'Computerplayer' if I'm misinformed, as we don't share embassies . I just thought I'd try to be helpful and ask you to consider whether it's possible to have your embassy notarize a document in Thai - I doubt they will. I doubt that the US embassy in Thailand will witness the authenticity of your affidavit if it's in Thai, but as I've never tried, who knows?

I think it's more likely that you and the immigration official have minor misunderstandings

Getting the MFA to legalize the notarized affidavit sounds like what the OP should do, I think they legalise a certified translation though, so there can't be a form the OP is asking for with Thai and English, the embassy won't notarize it, surely.

If you post the affidavit and a certified translation to the MFA at Chaeng Wattana with a signed copy of your passport and the fee, they'll legalize it (200baht) and post it back (40baht EMS). You may need a form, I can't remember or find the internet address.

What is so different from m letter, I get it from British embassy. That says I have whatever required funds, I must be missing something?

aussiebebe, if I understand it right, you are saying I can send my Affidavit filled out in English and another Notorized copy in Thai and then send to the MFA at Chaeng Wattana with a signed copy of my Passport and 200- Baht and they will Notarize my English affidavit!!!! I'm not sure my Immigration check point will accept it. They said they wanted both English and Thai on the same form. That's cheap though... I go to Bangkok Immigration and they want 1050- Baht to Notarize it. (1 form )!!!! Please get back to me on this and give me the address of the MFA in Chaeng Wattana.... Thanks!!!!

Nongkhai Immigration accepts for my ret visa the income statement from the Dutch Embassy in English but translated into Thai and both papers notarized at Chaeng Wattana. First, at Chaeng Wattana, they notarize the translation into Thai. Than they notarize the signature of the offical at the Dutch embassy. So, I get there with two papers. And than they make a copy of those papers and give back the original ones to me.

But every Imm Offical can make new rules.....
