iainiain101
I am no expert, but it looks like we should expect about an 80 percent solar eclipse around 3.40pm on Friday. gpdjohn
Now how do the Thais view that? Good or bad luck? PARTY TIME. I'm surprised it's not a 6 day official booze infused holiday weekend with the PM adding another 3 days just for good measure.

Meridian007
From what I can tell it will only be a partial, as the path doesn't come through Thailand. Here's a good general link: http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/OH/OH2010.html#SE2010Jan15A and here's one that shows the path overlayed on Google maps: http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/SEgoogle/SEgo...n15Agoogle.html I haven't seen any official news about this around Thailand, so I don't think we're in for much of a show. lukeskywalker
This is a fantastic picture: http://www.paulnoll.com/China/Eclipse/eclipse-1999.html It's a view from outer space of what an eclipse looks like of the shadow on the earth. Taken by a Russian. Website explains, but very cool and gives an idea of what really happens during an eclipse.

canuckamuck
I got to show my wife, I made a pinhole unit and we could see evrything quite clear in the reflected image. she took a look and went back inside. I am sure she was impressed, she just didn't know how to express herself.

angiud
My wife and me bring a wide glass we well smoked before to our son's school. All the teachers and an endless queue of scholars excited watching the (partial) eclipse. An interesting unscheduled break.

mcgriffith
Was at the pool today; 'round 4ish- though no clouds, and a clear sunny day....it all of a sudden got quite cool. Remembered looking at the sun briefly a few times, trying to figure out what was the deal. Hadn't seen this thread till now. Solar eclipse.....Duh....
