Hi welcome to ThaiVisa, a good place to find out exactly this sort of info.

First of all, its good practice not to use capitals on the forum (or emails etc.), as that is regarded as shouting in cyberworld...!

Secondly, there was a big thread about this a few months ago, which is worth searching for and reading, it will give you a lot of background and opinion (some good, some bad!) about exactly this topic, and also dealing with Thai officialdom.

Finally, if you are coming in to work (legally, of course!), you can bring in some personal effects free of duty within a certain time period of getting your work permit. Its documented in the above mentioned thread.

Yes, but unfortunately the Thai Customs web site doesn't mention the "tea money" that it will cost you, it is all up to the whims of the customs agent that is assigned to your shipment

Think long and hard before you ship household goods to Thailand unless your company is going to provide you with shipment processing, otherwise there isn't much that you can't buy new here that makes shipping from there worth it

If your shipping agent/company have the right contacts to Customs (which they should - after all, that is their "business") then they will negotiate tea money that will be all inclusive, meaning it will "cover" the official tariffs and still be cheaper than doing it "the right wax". I guess you/your employer need to ask yourselves whether you want to "play the game" or whether you want to be honest and run the risk of sudden "delays" in processing your shipment. What you need to know is that the Head of Customs had to pay first to get into his position, so now he is looking to recoup his investment.
