Mae Sai Immigration Office Hours

Featured Replies

Does anybody know what hours the Mae Sai Immigration Post is open? I particularly would like to know when it closes.

9 months ago you only had to go to the border itself. Sign out of Thailand., Walk across the bridge to the Myanmar office, sign in, pay money and you could return to T or spend some time in Tachelik's market. Did'nt have to stop off at an office.

But things change all the time. The year before that we had to stop off at the office about 2 kms before the border.

Check with local Immigration about the process. They can be very helpful. If you speak to the right person.

Went two weeks ago.

Situation normal, enter on left hand side, check out with Thai Immigration Police who remove old TM card, walk across bridge crossing over to right hand side.

Passport + B500 to Burmese Officials, received a computer generated card complete with Photo and went shopping in Tachaleck.

On return cross on Right side of bridge pick up passport after going through Main Burmese building at small office on right hand side of bridge then cross road to left and enter Thai Immigration doing New TM card.

Still very 'Kind' where duty frees are concerned.
