Hi i have a 1 year type o multi entry visa and need to do my first visa run. I have booked to go to KL (flight) and return in the same day.

When i arrive in KL do i need to leave the airport and get stamped in to the country. Or can i go through the transfer gate and get straight back on the flight to Phuket.

Thank

When flying in, there is no check if you entered another country frst, so you should be OK. If you do a land border run, you have to enter another country first before you can come back to Thailand.

If you are flying AirAsia, there is no transfer desk in Kuala Lumpur (or anywhere else for that matter). You must check-in at the main counters in the terminal which will necessitate a trip through Malaysian inbound and outbound immigrations.

At KL there are no immigration forms to complete on entry. They will just scan your passport and put entry stamp in your passport.

Has this changed again in the past couple weeks? Malaysia stopped using the immigrations forms a couple years back for a brief period, then began to use them again. They were using forms when I visited in late December.

You have to fill out an arrival card again. Did my Visa Run on 4th January and i had to fill out a card at the KL immigration.
