Hello all! Well basically im planning on moving to Thailand on the 13th of Feb to live with my Thai girlfriend and her family and then end up getting my own place i have bought my plane ticket already.

What is the best visa to go for? Is there any chance i can get the year visa? Is it best to go for the 2 month visa and keep doing a visa run every month? Cheers

Use Hull, get a one year Non Immigrant O for visiting friends, get your GF to copy her ID card and send you it.

You will have to leave Thailand every 90 days, but it is walk out then walk in again.

Good luck

The Embassy is in London, and only London. From UK the best chance of a multi entry would be from the Consulate in Hull.

You do have a plan (other than getting your own place) I hope. And you are aware that you can not work in Thailand without a work permit? And that as a tourist you will not have access to normal social services as in the UK?

Were will you be living in Thailand?

The Embassy in London is more strict than the Consolates.

Hull seems to have always been highly rated by us Brits. I got my passport back within 4 days.

I never heard that Hull ask for a friend ID copy for a "visiting friend" O ??

They did not asked for that yet in November...

Just a long as you understand what you plan to do is actually considered work in Thailand if anyone finds out and would require a work permit.
