January 25, 201016 yr noticed in this seasons 3rd and 4th rounds that some matches can be sell outs, and for some others , strangely , the crowd is paltry , ie boro v man city , pompey v sunderland, crowd was about 11000. At boro stadium was less than 50% full, at scunthorpe v city it was sold out. preston v chelsea sold out, then reading v burnley stadium half full, these are just a few example but im baffled, i mean do preston fans rate the fa cup more than reading fans ?? they were both at home to premiership opponents but had contrasting attendaces.
January 25, 201016 yr Yes a lot of empty seats . But since Boro sacked Southgate and installed Strachan results have gone down hill as fast as the crowds which were not great to start of with.With the problems Pompey have again its not surprising, couple this with an economy still struggling I am amazed so many can find the dough to attend so many matches .Not a cheap night out.
