A friend tells me that he can get Blu Ray discs in Bangkok for 150 Baht. Last time I was there normal dvds were about 100 Baht, so Phuket was cheaper for those. My quetion is - can you get Blu Rays anywhere in Phuket? Another friend says she asked along the sea front road in Patong and they said they didn't know what she was talking about. Any improvement on this?

You will not find blu ray disks for 150 baht, you may find some disks claiming to be bluray for that though.

In Pattaya I found some Blu-Ray disks. The box looked perfect and was sealed etc but they were very cheap. So cheap that I asked the seller if they were real Blu-Ray. He said "Yes, and you can play them in any DVD player!"

I explained to him that real Blu-Ray cannot be played in a DVD but he insisted they were real. After 10 mins of arguing he admitted that they were "Real Copies!"

games never dried in central upstairs have quite a few , they are mostly older movies and they start in price from about 1000 baht to 1900 baht.

Many places now sell Blu Ray players, but unfortunately when you ask the question of where to buy the discs it's inevitably met by blank looks! You might get one or two discs as a freebie when buying a player (typically Spiderman 2 - spectacular in blu ray on a large LCD TV).

Really, it's like buying a high definition LCD TV, but there's no HD broadcasts here, and you can't get HD DVD's. There are other ways of course, but as a Mod pointed out, not for discussion here.
