SilentReader Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 from their websites : Santiburi Samui Country Club Green fee 3,350 Baht Caddy 250 Baht Golf Cart 750 Baht Total 4,350 Baht Non-Golfer wish to accompany golfer will be charged at 2,700 Baht (inclusive of accompanying fee, golf cart, and caddie fee). + Only caddie is allowed to operate a golf cart. + The number of golfer per group including non-golfer is maximum 5 persons per group. (This is subject to change without prior notice). + Children under 12 years of age are not allowed on the course. Royal Samui Golf & Country Club Green Fee(2 x 9 holes) 1,150 Baht Golf cart 600 Baht No Caddies Total 1,750 Baht Juniors Walk In Green Fee(2 x 9 holes) 750 Baht plus Golf Cart Bophut Hills Golf Club no pricing on website but as mentioned 1,500 Baht includes caddy and club rent Whilst Santiburi is a proper Championship standard course, you have to pay for it. And I have to disagree with their policy of no children under the age of 12 years allowed on the course. If you child is an up and coming pro then he or she has to go elsewhere. For me the Royal Samui Golf & Country Club is by far the best option for any local or touring golfer. Alot more laidback in their regulations, dress code is really upto you as long as you have appropriate shoes(any flat sole runner would be ok), YOU are the driver of the cart which is half the fun, and kids of any age are welcome. Never played at Bophut Hills before but with the longest hole at just 163 yards can't really classify it as a proper course. But I am sure it can be fun for some. Some people have commented on the fact that Royal Samui is also a very short course. I would have to disagree. The holes range from 92 to 329 yards. (in all 3 par 3s and 6 par 4s). Agreed Santiburi has all the extra facilities that some people need or expect but for that on the spur decision to go have a hit with your mates or family then it is Royal Samui for me. And the views of Chaweng Beach and Lamai Beach are spectacular.

PoorSucker Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 All golfers should pay 10000 baht extra/ hour for making a fresh water pipeline to the mainland. I want to some pressure in the government water supply. Where do the golfers think the water comes from, the sky? Just have to rant.....

Who was it who said " golf is a great way of spoiling a good walk?"
