once i wrote all my thai holiday postcards to family and friends when i was steaming drunk. i never cringed so much in my life when i re read them upon my return home. i even drew stupid little smiley faces with the tongue sticking out

I know a Canadian who is in hospital now and will be coming out feet first, last year he called in to the betters halfs shop as he was going to Bangkok on the overnight train for provisions.

These turned out to be 15 cans of Chiang beer and half a bottle of whisky, he was drunk by eight O'clock in the morning everyday and stayed that way all day, still all good fun what?

I wonder if you would feel the same sense of amusement if instead of booze the person phoning or sending e-mails was out of their heads on smack or crack cocaine?

I too have known many alkies to die. Also, a few druggies. Some very young.

Alcohol abuse is a legal, acceptable way of killing yourself, and having "fun".

Illegal drugs, although no worse, have a real stigma attached.

When alcohol starts making you do things that you regret then you should be very careful. When blackouts occur, this is a strong indication that you are an alcoholic.

I From what I have read, smack could be quite amuzing...must give it a go.
