One Year Visa

Featured Replies

I have a single entry Non Immigrant B Visa which allows me to stay for 3 months.

I would like to apply for a One Year Visa and I've checked that I meet all requirements.

Now I would like to know if I have the One Year Visa, do I have to apply for RE-ENTRY permit every time i fly out of thailand?

Thanks!

If you mean a one year "Extension of Stay", then yes you would need to obtain a re-entry permit before exiting the country. You can obtain a single re-entry for 1000 Baht, or multiple re-entry for 3800 Baht.

Single use re-entry permit, baht 1,000

Multiple use re-entry permit, baht 3,800.

So you break even, well, actually save baht 200, at four trips out and back in.

Is it very important to have a One Year visa?

My current Non-Immigrant B visa expires every 3 months (or whenever I fly out without a re entry permit). I actually found it's cheaper to apply for a new Non-B everytime I fly home since the embassy at my home country issues me the Single Entry visa Free of Charge. So sometimes I don't even bother applying for Re-Entry.

What are the cons if I continue doing this?
