Looks as if the guy got out of his car and was harassing the red-shirt. Who knows? That clip doesn't show what was happening to cause it.

Perhaps he was shouting his disapproval of the reds or something of the sort. But the red clearly ran over and attacked him. That is in no way justifiable.

Best for all farang to keep their noses out of it,thais, dont get involved in european politic,s and we are here so mind our own business.

It just shows the problem any organiser of a rally has, and I am not excusing people like Arisaman here who was clearly threatening people, but making a general point. The problem they have is that every rally attracts idiots like this guy and also a certain proportion get frustrated and overly fired up and become prone to violence. It happens the world over at many rallies, and virtually every big one.

Not too much of a scrap.

The guy in the pink was driving the MU7 and came up behind the reds who were driving slowly in front of him. After following them for a while, he got the shites and tooted at them and it went from there, he ended up getting out of his car and exchanging words with them.

The Police were on the spot, right there at the time but did nothing until after punches had been exchanged. After they broke up the punch and kick show the guy in the pink was asking the Police why they didnt do anything to stop the red guy from hitting him, the Police officer replied that he didnt see it and the pink guy asked him, how didnt you see it, everyone saw it.

OR WORDS TO THAT EFFECT...too many people speaking at once, as per usual.

Simple really, two hots clashed, if the guy in the pink had just waited until he could round up the reds, it wouldnt of happened. It probably wouldnt of happened if the idiot in the red had a brain inside his head either.....but youve got to expect this, i guess.

I think both the red guy and the pink guy went to the Police station to exhange money :)

A 20 sec tumble and 2:40 of Tourist shops - no WMD luckily.

Brewsta - Pathum Thani is most certainly not endowed with tourist shops - I've got two brothers-in-law that live and work there, every time we've visited them it feels like we've arrived in some semi derelict industrial estate from "Boys from the Black Stuff" or "The Full Monty". Any tourist found there would probably get arrested for insanity or stupidity, because it's deffo not on TAT'a map of Unseen Thailand.

.... WMD? errr - you still dreaming of them WoMaD festivals back in the UK, or you on another plotline now?

Foggy

This is the problem with people who have an axe to grind putting their spin on everything. From the video clip we cannot determine what started the incident but we can easily observe that the initial contact was by the guy with the pink shirt. If he had not kicked the red-shirt guy maybe nothing more than a shouting match might have occurred. If you notice the guy in the red shirt carried his megaphone with him. If a person were heading for a physical encounter the person would have dropped the megaphone so that he could better engage in the physical encounter.

As I said from the clip all we can determine was that something occurred between these two men accross the street and the both approached each other. Whether one or both these men were justified is not evident in the video. What is clear is that the man in pink initiated the first contact by kicking the man in the red shirt.

I hope everyone will look at the video closely and decide for themselves and not be influenced by biased descriptions.

This is simple propaganda and could come out of Thai soap operas. Well, at least 2 questions remain here:

- Why did the police not catch the guy thrashing Mr. business man

- Was the red shirt a real red or just one of them 'activists' or shall we say agent provocateur ?

Who knows...

The story from my girl on the ground was that the traffic que was just starting to form at this particular spot and the pink shirt guy got out of his car to ask someone if he could squeeze past first as he had to go to the hospital (or some such excuse)

He talked briefly to a police officer before heading back to his car but the red shirt guy, thinking that he was making trouble for them, rounded him off and started the biffo..

Pretty much variations of the same story as Neverdie reported..

I guess if this is the worst so far then we can only hope it wont get any worse

edit: change wording and to clarify this is just what she heard from other sources without seeing the clip

Neverdie offered reason by suggesting that they were both maybe as bad as each other, and you offer this:

If he had not kicked the red-shirt guy

THE RED SHIRT GUY RAN ACROSS THE ROAD TO GET TO HIM <deleted>!!!!!

Well, get a grip! It is patently clear that it was the red shirt who exercised the violence. Not unexpected either. It is interesting that the red shirt leaders and Thaksin's ex-wife and kids, have fled the country to leave their moron thugs to take the gaff for a lousy 2,000 baht each. Laying your ass on the line for an absentee tyrant has just got to be more valuable than 2,000 baht.

It's amazing, how (red-shirt) violence gets justified, by so many on TV. Wonder what you would say, if it was you getting knocked in the head with a megaphone numerous times and get up bleading from the head???

As to the 2000 Baht, that is 2/3 of a month's wages, for a lot of farm workers up North. Many of them still only get paid 100 Baht per day. So when some of Thaksin's people come to pay them 2000 Baht, for a few days, which would take them 20 days of hard work otherwise, many of them jump on the opportunity. I don't think they would start a revolution for their Billionaire buddy, if they didnt' get paid substantially. After all, they have nothing else to gain from all this. (Remember, in the end, it's all about money...and maybe Lao Khao ;-)

Yes, it's sad, when people can be bought for so little, to put their lives on the line. If Toxin was so great, these people would have a decent standard of living by now and wouldn't have to take 2000 Baht, to possible get themselves hurt or killed. Thaksin handed out crumbs and pocketed the rest. There is nothing good or socialistic about Thaksin. He was a cruel, selfish dictator. (I say dictator, because when you pay people to vote for you, there is nothing democratic about it)

The video obviously shows violence, by the Red guy, who was part of a red group travelling together. Hitting someone with an object must be taken seriously. Sadly, I think it's only the start of things to come, over the next few days :-(

High kick by pink shirt was big mistake, put him off balance - unless you have serious power and conifdence in you high kicks always go in low near the knee with simultaneous block of the hook and straight punch. follow in with a series of straight punches down the centre line - nose, chin or chest.. finished in seconds :)

Have no idea what was said, but what I see is the dude in the red shirt aggressively running towards the guy in the pink shirt with the intention to attack. The pink shirted guy did not approach the aggressor, he stayed on his side of the street. I see it as a matter of self defense.

Regardless, had the red shirted guy stayed put it may never have happened.

Take a look at the beginning again. I did, 5 times. To me it looks like the red shirt did a twist to dodge a flying object, jumped down off the back of truck, did what looks like a twist and dodge from another flying object. Small rocks would be hard to spot in this video.

i agree. if you look real close to the beginning it looks like the pinky throws something at red boy.

That said. It REALLY looks like a setup. why was the filming going on before the fight? Thousands of redshirts are gathering, yet redboy was ALONE? ?? makes you wonder! why no other reds around. WHoever was driving the truck never even makes an apperance. At least ten cameras on top of the fight withinh SECONDS? comeon this is pure BS!

and yes the blood looks better on for the pictures! As far as getting a wound for pay---ever watch boxing!!!

Looks to me like the red guy took off his jacket to get ready for some fisticuffs, charged across the street at the pink shirt guy, and the pink shirt guy put up a kick to defend himself. There wasn't even any place he could run too.

I'm fairly sure that if the red hadn't charged across the street, there wouldn't have been a fight. And if the pink guy hadn't gotten out of his SUV and shouted at the reds, here wouldn't have been a fight either. Still doesn't justify charging someone and beating them over the heard with a megaphone.

With any luck both reds and yellows will begin to physically attack all you arrogant expats who do nothing but whine about the country (and its people) that YOU CHOSE to live in. Go back to the places that were so wonderful you couldn't wait to leave there to move to Thailand....what a bunch of cry baby colonialists! Get a life...................
