Thai traditional tattos, done with a hammer and a bamboo stick (ouch ) have many different meanings. Some are for luck and prosperity. For gangsters they are protection against bullets and knives (not sure this works ) and for others the tattoos are a sign of devotion to buddha or animist spirits. For me: they just look cool IMHO.
