Lots and lots of years ago I could fill up the tank on my VW Camper with gas for about baht 100. That vehicle's long gone now, but it now runs me baht 1,500 for diesel at the pump!

Normally. everywhere in the world the same. Goverments want you buy new cars, to keep the economy running, but they don't want you use it, for "green reasons", therefore the high fuel taxes, specially in Europe. You shuld only buy the car, don't drive it and after 3 years buy a new one to keep the economy running. "Red Green rules the world" Sad, but true!
